BOOK COVER DESIGN

For this university project, we were tasked with designing a book cover for a classic novel. I was assigned Sherlock Holmes and saw it as the perfect opportunity to explore a maximalist design style while balancing it with a modern aesthetic.

I was inspired by the elegance and intricate details of the Victorian Era, and I incorporated ornate elements that reflect the time period in which the stories are set. To keep the design engaging for a contemporary audience, I used Victorian-era designs to frame the custom typography. The result is a cover that captures the mystery and sophistication of Sherlock Holmes while offering a fresh interpretation of a literary classic.
